LateRooms.com - Get your running shoes on for the London Twin Peak Challenge

October 14, 2010 (PRLEAP.COM) Travel News
LateRooms.com divulges the London Twin Peak Challenge is poised to take place later this year and will see participants climb 1,512 steps.

If guests at London hotels think they can manage this feat, they should sign up on the event's website as soon as possible, although there is a minimum sponsorship amount in place of £200 for each person.

It is the first time the capital city has hosted a double-tower running occasion, with the proceeds of the contest going to Action Against Hunger.

The challenge will take place on November 7th and will involve eager runners covering 67 floors of City Point and The Broadgate Tower.

This adds up to a combined height of 935 feet.

No doubt entrants will appreciate some support, so even if travellers do not take part, they could head down to cheer on the fundraisers.

The organisers explained: "Tower running is the latest craze to sweep major cities across the world and now it's here in London."

As a reward for their efforts, people involved in the London Twin Peak Challenge will receive a host of freebies, including refreshments, lunch and a massage after they finish the race.

It costs £35 to sign up for the occasion, with groups of runners setting off from 09:00 GMT onwards on the day.
