Last Day To Look For Bargains At GITEX Shopper

Organisers Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) announced that Friday 30th September would be the final day to look for bargains and value-for-money deals at GITEX Shopper at the Airport Expo.

Prices plunge further on the last day, as exhibitors are eager to clear stocks. Participating exhibitors at GITEX Shopper have reported between 30 to 40 per cent increase in sales during the first few days of the show.

The annual shopping extravaganza that is now in its 15th edition has been receiving record crowds with a double-digit jump in visitor numbers to 72,000 by the fifth day of the show.

From being a marketplace for computers and accessories, GITEX Shopper has emerged as the single largest annual retail platform for technology in the Middle East. It encompasses information technology, digital imaging, telephony, consumer electronics, office automation, gaming, entertainment, educational programs, training, stationery, computer furniture and a wide range of related sectors that present cutting edge technology and the latest designs the world has to offer.

Last year’s event reported on-site sales in excess of AED 56 million (US$15.25 million) during the weeklong exhibition. The show attracted around 108,000 consumers and the average per capita spend was AED 519 (US$141) per consumer.

In addition to local consumers from within the UAE, this year’s event has also pulled in visitors from Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Iran, India, Iraq and Pakistan.

Vendors, resellers and traders are using GITEX Shopper as a platform to promote and market their wares and put forward some of the best deals and promotions on their products and services.

These are further complemented with a host of prizes, raffles, easy payment facilities, credit card promotions and instant cash prizes making GITEX Shopper the most consumer-friendly and successful retail platform in the Middle East.
