Reach the source of the Luangwa RiverSteppes Travel is delighted to announce a unique, new safari. Reach the source of the Luangwa River. A shallow, meandering wildlife paradise, the Luangwa rises in the Mafinga Mountains on the border of Zambia and Malawi. The source of the Luangwa - a tiny clear water pool high in the Mafingas - was finally discovered in November 2002.
Clients now have the opportunity to reach the source of this famous river on a “Source of the Luangwa Safari”. The next departure for this unique African safari is on 16 October to 29 October 2005.
The safari will take in the Vwaza Marsh Game Reserve and the Nyika National Park in northern Malawi before a two night hike to the source of the Luangwa. The safari will then continue into the Luangwa Valley first stopping at Mwaleshi Camp in the North Luangwa National Park and ending at Tafika in the South Luangwa National Park.
Steppes Travel is offering this extraordinary new Luangwa safari for a price of £3,150.00 per person, based on two people sharing and excluding international flights.
Steppes Travel (or Steppes East as it was then) was founded in 1989 with the objective of creating a travel company where service and knowledge are of the highest priority. They aim to design itineraries which, while including the highlights of any country, additionally take travellers off the beaten track to see lesser known, but equally interesting places not frequented by large numbers of tourists.
Steppes Travel specialise in the creation of tailor made journeys to the more exotic areas of the world. They do not sell the USA, Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand or Japan, they do not ski and they do not cruise (except in the Galapagos and Antarctica).
