Some of the societies that have already signed up for the festival include Irish Vikings, the Spartan Society, British Plate Armour Society, Gods Company of Tabor and Knights of Skirbeck.

It takes place on August 7th and 8th at the Stratford Armouries, with the doors opening from 11:00 to 17:30 BST on the Saturday and 11:00 to 17:00 on the Sunday.

Tickets cost £10, although children under 15 can get in for £5 and a family pass for two adults and two children can be purchased for £25.

The event is being staged by the European Re-enactment Agency, with the help of more than 44 different societies around the UK.
