From June 5th 2010, tourists have flocked to the attraction to take part in the Turtle Festival, which organisers have put on in a bid to raise awareness of the plight of the shelled animal and encourage people to get involved in conservation efforts.

However, this programme of activities is coming to a close soon, with August 4th set to be the final date that people staying at hotels in Thailand can enjoy it, according to CityNow.

Those who head to Chiang Mai Zoo Aquarium to explore the various exhibitions which are in place throughout the festival are sure to have plenty to see, as numerous different species are featured as part of the festival.

"Visitors will have the opportunity to see many sea turtles and freshwater turtles from all over the world," the news provider commented.

Admission to the attraction will cost 520 Thai baht (£10.50) for adults, while children up to the age of 14 will be able to get in for 390 Thai baht.

Snorkelling is also on offer at a cost of 700 Thai baht for adults and 500 Thai baht for kids.
