The Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation was created in 2001 by Cal's sons, Billie Ripken and Cal Ripken, Jr. after Cal, Sr. passed away due to lung cancer. To honor their late great father, they created the foundation in his name in order to help Boys and Girls Clubs, inner-city schools, P.A.L. centers and other organizations around the U.S. By using baseball and softball themed programs, the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation is able to teach life lessons and build character in distressed communities.

The Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation helps those in need all-year round and is actively seeking help in various forms any time.
