AsiaRooms.com - Listen to the Insect Chorus in Hong Kong

June 16, 2010 (PRLEAP.COM) Travel News
AsiaRooms.com can announce that people staying in Hong Kong hotels who want to get back to nature could find that a visit to the Hong Kong Wetland Park is a great idea.

The nature reserve is running a special programme of events designed to draw attention to some of the area's smallest inhabitants - the insects.

Visitors to the attraction will be able to learn about the myriad of different species that call the wetlands their home.

Exhibitions of art and photography are among the things that people can look forward to, as well as guided tours around the park to help them find some of the creepy crawlies.

According to the Hong Kong Wetland Park website, visitors in June should be sure to look out for the variegated flutterer dragonfly.

This distinctive insect has large black and yellow wings and is described as "elegant".

Anyone who wants to learn more about this class of invertebrates will be able to enjoy all of the exhibitions until October.

Entry to the park costs HK$30 (£2.66) and it is open between 10:00 and 17:00 (local time) every day except Tuesdays.

For more information on this event visit the Hong Kong Wetlands Park website or contact the venue on +852 2708 8885.
