Britain 2005 is under going a renaissance in arts and sport, and thank God for that,
We've been waiting since 1966 for some sporting pride to be returned to these green and pleasant isles and delivered it’s been,
now all that’s needed is a second British music in the States and the mission's complete!
Adding to this heady period of good times revisited in the UK is Kusha Deep’s label favourites KU, who lit up the summer with the dub inspired Haunted Dancehall that is finding its way on to play lists across the world still,
Pulse Fm in the UK made it hot track of the week for two weeks running; it reached the top ten requested tracks on a Chicago based radio station and top 100 on RDU radio charts in New Zealand, even getting played by British Armed services broadcasting to the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. With the follow up EP titled Heads UP the doors are about to open even further.
After the attacks on London everyone's heads slightly went down after getting the Olympic bid, ‘We wanted to put out a record that lifted people's spirits back up again, bringing the never be defeated ethos into national psyche and send a message out that this is a nation to be reckoned with!’
The EP has four anthemic tracks on it, kicking off with the positive "Every One's A Star" written while out in Australia, after watching pop idol on a day off from the studio. Andy Warhol’s prediction has become Reality TV, and good luck to them, it’s a track dedicated to all dreamers who aren’t afraid to shake it for the world.
"Shadow Of the Sun" is another classic track taking its influence from classic British rock and mixing it with an infectious reggae bass-line and some hypnotising vocals, calling for some escapism from the strains of the material world and ending up in an makeshift wonderland in the shadow of the sun!
Bringing in the one love message is the outstanding track "Let Love Be Your Religion", We need another "Give Peace A Chance", as Lennon’s been holding the flame for thirty odd years now. "Let Love Be Your Religion" is all about dropping the dogma and putting an end to the madness that any one has the answer to who's the best God to be working for,
The EP is completed with a tune called "Strange Alchemy", another one penned out in Australia while lapping up some beach culture and hanging out with someone who's just touched your heart. Songs to sing and learn.
