Lights! Camera! Action! — Festival fever hits Playa del Sol Resorts in November

PUERTO VALLARTA, Mexico (Sept. 22, 2005) – The all-suite luxury resort group, Playa del Sol, is getting ready for its close up shot in November as two of the hottest arts celebrations return to Puerto Vallarta: the 2nd Annual Film Festival and the 11th Annual Gourmet Festival.

The film festival kicks off the start of a month-long festival party from Nov. 7 to 12, with Playa del Sol as one of its Emerald Sponsors and film legend Peter O’Toole as a special guest of honor. During festival dates, all bookings at any of the three Playa del Sol properties will include 4 tickets per room, per stay valid for nightly showings of new films.

This year’s festival promises to have plenty of surprises in store as local directors screen new flicks before an enthusiastic audience of indie movie fans. Big name Hollywood heavyweights who attended last year’s festival include Angelica Houston, John C. Reilly, director Alfonso Cuarón (“Harry Potter and The Criminal of Azkaban”, “Y Tu Mamá También”), and rising young Mexican stars Diego Luna and Ana Claudia Talancón.

Playa del Sol gets in the gourmet mood later on in November with participation in the 11th Annual Gourmet Festival. The resorts are proud to enter in the competitions represented by the culinary talents of an international guest chef.

The food festival runs Nov. 10 to 20, 2005 is a gourmet’s delight, featuring chef’s tables and fine wine tastings hosted by Puerto Vallarta’s most imaginative masters, as well as gourmet cooking classes, wine and cheese samplings, and gala dinners. This year, 25 participating restaurants will be thrust into the limelight with special menus that showcase their chefs’ gastronomic fortitude and talent.

Playa del Sol Grand’s gourmet Italian a la carte restaurant La Bella Italia will participate with “dine arounds” to introduce festival goers to the authentic tastes of the homeland.
