LATHRUP VILLAGE, Mich. – May 12, 2010 –Michigan First Credit Union (www.MichiganFirst.com) today announced the launch of a redesigned website to provide members and non-members easy access to a variety of financial planning tools that will help them become more financially healthy. With the financial turbulence that has challenged consumers over the past few years, more people are taking active roles in managing their finances and working to be financially stable. In addition to offering members personal finance management tools through its online banking service, Michigan First Credit Union's new website provides additional tools that will help users increase their money management knowledge. A new library of financial articles is housed on the website as a resource for researching such topics as auto buying, credit reports, investment planning, college planning, mortgages and more.
A variety of calculators have also been added to the site to help consumers gain a better understanding of their finances. The calculators can help identify how long it will take to pay off a credit card balance, estimate monthly mortgage payments, identify how much a family will need to save to pay for college, and even what it will take to become a millionaire.
"Michigan First is dedicated not only to continuously investing in new technologies that increase convenience and ease of use for our members, but also to providing an abundance of resources that will help increase financial literacy," said Michael Poulos, president and CEO of Michigan First Credit Union. "Through our new website, members can gather all the information they need about financial goals and challenges and then use our online banking service to help them budget their money and meet those goals."
The website has been updated to be more user friendly, with a new look and feel and increased search and FAQ functionality. "We want our website to serve as a resource that anyone can easily navigate and use as a resource to become more actively involved and knowledgeable about personal finances," added Poulos.
As a supplement to its online banking service and website, Michigan First also offers a variety of free on-site financial literacy seminars at its Lathrup Village, Mich. headquarters. For a full listing of upcoming seminars, visit www.MichiganFirst.com.
