New Music Teachers Association Helps Connect Students With Local Teachers

Sacramento, CA - Originally slated to make its debut in January of this year, the North American Music Teachers Association (NAMTA) now plans to begin offering free trial memberships by the end of May, 2010.

According to NAMTA's president and founder, David Terry, the four-month delay was due to a re-design of its original web site and the subsequent testing of new features, including an optional background check, for NAMTA members.

"We wanted to give our members the option of submitting to a criminal background check, thereby providing students and parents greater trust and confidence in selecting a music teacher, Terry said. "This feature, along with the membership sign-up process, has now been tested and our site is ready to launch."

NAMTA is different from other music teachers association in that the organization's focus is on helping music teachers and music schools with the business side of music instruction. "NAMTA promotes our members with sophisticated Internet marketing and advertising programs designed to help them attract and retain new students," Terry said.

NAMTA members will be able to post their professional profiles where they can be accessed free of charge by students and parents looking for qualified music teachers in their communities.
