Eco Happy Hour to Benefit Amazon Rainforest Held throughout Summer at JW Marriott Washington, DC Bar

Washington, DC – May 1, 2010 – The JW Marriott Washington, DC, situated at the corner of 14th and Pennsylvania Avenue, is proud to support Earth Day 2010. As an extension of Earth Day's celebration, the JW Marriott Washington, DC's Bar 1331 is hosting a happy hour fundraiser with a special menu. This new drink menu consists of refreshing eco-cocktails and organic summer white wines by the glass, to help raise awareness for saving the rainforests. The rainforest fundraiser consists of a special beverage menu that will be available at JW Marriott's Bar 1331, Monday, April 19 throughout the summer months. Cocktails are $12.00 and the organic wines by the glass start at $9.00. In an effort to protect the rainforest, 30% of the proceeds from each beverage on the new menu will be donated. These funds will be used toward the protection and preservation of 1.4 million acres of endangered rainforest in the Amazon, called the Juma Sustainable Development Reserve.

The rainforest benefit Happy Hour menu features Prairie Organic® vodka includes: Strawberry Fields – muddled fresh strawberries, basil leaves, simple syrup; Prairie Sage Sour, bruised sage leaves, sage infused simple syrup, and house made sour mix; Prairie Fresh, cucumber and mint leaves muddles with simple syrup. Wines by the glass include: Cartlidge and Browne Sauvignon Blanc, Pacific Rim Organic Riesling, Vida Organica Malbec Rose, and Vida Organica Torrontes.

In addition to the happy hour fundraiser, a $1 contribution to the Juma Reserve helps offset the average carbon generated per occupied guest room per night at the JW Marriott. Patrons of Bar 1331 will also have the option to make an additional $10 donation to their check, to help offset the carbon footprint of 10 room nights.
