Hottboxx Raises $2,750 for Katrina Relief


Joel Adams and Shane Doss formed Strech in the summer of 2001 when their former bands Ten Ton Groove and Xlist split up. Shop was set up at 2 High studios in Atlanta and the band began playing the Southeast while attempting to build a loyal fan base.


Not too far into the first band's lineup, Stretch came to a crashing halt. Almost giving it up, Shane and Joel decided to try one more time for that perfect lineup that could be both band mates as well as a family. Long time friend, drummer Mike Rock, masterfully proved himself time and time again sitting in on demos after many years away from the music circuit. They also landed the attention of a great bassist, Jeff Bell, from the former group Hindsight. Still needing that one person who could focus the musical energy in a way that was meant to be, former singer of Jelly Bone, Doug Slam, was found. Their first show was the semifinals for Lubypalooza which they won securing a spot for the August finals where they brought a huge crowd and won $1,000.00 and advance to the Superfinals Sept 10th. The week of Aug 22nd they won secondencore.com online battle of the bands and was the feature artist for that week.

With the new line up came new changes. And HOTTBOXX was born. HOTTBOXX has a new lease on life and intends on pushing their creativity to new levels. Touching upon influences like early Van Halen, Soundgarden and Stone Temple Pilots, the music has a hard driving but ethereal edge. Vocals are energetic, soulful and guttural. Guitars, bass and percussion blend various styles seamlessly. The songs showcase exceptional music writing abilities and talents.

Having signed with Allbiz Entertainment Group to manage and represent the band, Hottboxx is preparing for the next phase of their career. Their freshman CD is now in the works, being recording in-house at Salem Studios in Atlanta, GA. Every journey begins with one step. Hottboxx is now one step closer to ultimate success.
