SPORTS SEASON TICKET HOLDERS ENCOURAGED TO SELL UNUSED TICKETS TO SPORTS FANS BY USING www.iHaveTickets.com
August 20, 2003 (PRLEAP.COM) Sports News
SAN JOSE, CA., August 20, 2003 —- iHaveTickets.com announces today that sellers of sports tickets, especially season ticket holders, now have a private venue to trade, sell or exchange sports tickets. To help usher in the NFL and College Football season, iHaveTickets.com is providing both buyers and sellers with free listings through December, along with no fees or commissions (in other words FREE). "Sports fans looking for NFL, NBA, NHL or MLB tickets can go to www.iHaveTickets.com, find tickets of interest, and contact the seller directly, privately working out their own deal," said Jonathan Edwards, VP Marketing, iHaveTickets.com. "Our objective is to provide a platform for buyers and sellers of sports tickets to meet and privately sell, trade and exchange tickets.'
Many season ticket holders end up with unused tickets every year since finding a buyer at the last minute can be time consuming and inconvenient. Ticketmaster estimates that more than four million sports tickets are available in the secondary market yearly. Sports fans visiting iHaveTickets.com can also search for and buy tickets from eBay, OpenSeats and StubHub.
"We're making life a little easier for sports fans by providing them an outlet to find tickets for their favorite teams at prices set by fans, and not by scalpers," said Edwards. "We are NOT ticket brokers or sellers.' The iHaveTickets.com business model never charges a fee to buyers. Sellers are charged a single one-time fee ranging from $2.95 to $4.95 per ad, depending on the ads duration, but through December, all fees are waived.
The site opened its "doors" earlier this year and has been "test driven" by users around the country. At the moment, the site features MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL along with College Football and Basketball tickets.
