New Web Site Dedicated to Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) Launched

BOULDER, COLORADO - Sinai Marketing has announced the launch of a new Web site dedicated to providing information about Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) to readers.

The site- www.padanswers.com - is set up in a blog format to allow for ease in adding and updating information, to enable readers to comment openly and to enable medical professionals familiar with PAD to interact with those who have questions, said Ali Husayni, who created the Web site.

Also known as Peripheral Artery Disease,PAD is a common circulation problem that is the result of fatty deposits that build in the arteries outside the brain and heart. It is most common occurs in the arteries that supply blood to the legs and feet.
As these fatty deposits continue to build, they develop into plaque and cause the arteries to narrow or become completely blocked. Once this occurs, the amount of oxygen and blood that reaches the leg muscles and the feet is reduced.

The American Heart Association warns that ultimately, PAD can increase a person's risk for stroke or heart attack .

PAD affects more than 30 million people around the world, and is most common in adults age 65 and older, according to Cook Medical.

Fortunately, PAD often is treated with great success by eating a healthy diet, exercising on a regular basis, and quitting smoking if the patient is a smoker, according to the Mayo Clinic.
