Fort Smith – In response to the passage of the Obama Healthcare plan, 3rd District Congressional candidate Gunner DeLay issued a strongly worded statement in opposition to the legislation. "Today, the Obama administration and Speaker Pelosi have demonstrated all that is wrong with Washington politics. The back door deal cutting, rule manipulation, and shredding of our Constitution has launched a revolution that will continue through the election and beyond." Declaring that the people's crusade to take back their government will be the civil rights movement of this century, DeLay stated, "As 3rd District Congressman, I would be committed to supporting this movement, including any acts of civil disobedience that may be necessary to affect change." DeLay commented that he will work for the immediate repeal of Obamacare and would champion the rights of any person threatened or fined by the IRS for failing to purchase insurance.
Contending that Obamacare would not only stifle job growth, but would also increase unemployment, DeLay pointed out, "If businesses are forced to pay for health insurance they can't afford, the only way they can survive is to reduce their payroll." DeLay noted that Obama's Healthcare takeover will increase taxes on employers to the tune of $52 billion dollars.
DeLay posed the question, "Why is it when Americans are focused on two things; creating jobs and reducing spending, the democrats pushed through legislation that will kill jobs and increase our debt? This only shows the arrogance of Obama and Pelosi and their blatant disregard for the will of the people."
