Formation of a Joint Venture..

Mr. Yousef Al Nowais of Emirates Holdings announced today the formation of a joint venture company with its partners, MAN Group of India and ADPICO, for the setting up of longitudinal submerged arc welded (LSAW) steel pipe production along with line coating facilities in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

Both MAN Group and ADPICO are established leaders in the manufacture of SAW pipes and are recognized internationally in that field. Emirates Holdings is a leading diversified business Group and supplier to the oil and gas industry in the United Arab Emirates.

The new production facilities will be located in Abu Dhabi industrial area within the current facilities of ADPICO. The factory is intended to meet the growing requirements for SAW pipes in the United Arab Emirates, GCC and other Middle Eastern countries.

The Machinery and equipment for the production lines are expected to arrive in Abu Dhabi by the middle of 2005 and the production is scheduled to start by the last quarter of 2005.
