LateRooms.com divulges anyone intending to book Zaragoza hotels during the Easter period may be interested to learn about one of the city's traditions.Every year, thousands of people congregate in Zaragoza to celebrate the death and resurrection of Christ in an unusual way.
Throughout the Holy Week, which this year falls from March 27th to April 4th, there will be a series of parades through the city's streets.
More than 15,000 members of various religious orders from the region will don their costumes and beat their drums as they march around Zaragoza, creating an unusual and loud spectacle for people visiting the area.
Members of up to 53 different brotherhoods will take part, with each group wearing different coloured hoods and robes.
In addition to the drums, the men are accompanied by women wearing black, funeral-like clothing.
There are also statues of Jesus and Mary which are transported on floats decorated with flowers.
Crowds of more than 100,000 people gather to watch the annual event, which has been labelled a festival of national tourist interest in Spain, according to WhatZaragoza.com.
