AsiaRooms.com can announce that Hanoi will be welcoming members of the shipbuilding and marine technology industries for a major event next month. The fifth international Vietship exhibition takes place at the Vietnam National Convention Centre from March 17th to 19th, with 600 companies from 30 different countries expected to visit the city during this time.
Vietship is Vietnam's only major shipbuilding exhibition and is sponsored by the country's ministry of transport and ministry of industry and trade, as well as the authorities for science and technology, planning and investment.
The event is particularly important for Vietnam, as the country has announced plans to become the fourth largest shipbuilding nation in the world by 2020.
Situated in the Tu Liem district, the Vietnam National Convention Centre was built for the annual meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, which took place in Hanoi in 2006.
The venue contains over 40 function and banquet rooms, which will be used by over 15,000 industry delegates during Vietship.
People using accommodation in Hanoi during the exhibition may like to use their visit as an opportunity to explore the city's other attractions, including Hoan Kiem Lake and the Hanoi Opera House.
