W. Peter Nordland, DMD, Appointed to Advisory Board of Consumer Guide to Dentistry

W. Peter Nordland, DMD, of La Jolla, Calif., has been appointed to the Advisory Board of Consumer Guide to Dentistry, a leading provider of online education about dentistry and oral health.

Dr. Nordland has a San-Diego-based private practice focused exclusively on oral plastic microsurgery. One of the few fellows of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, he is the co-founder of the American Academy of Periodontal Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Nordland has presented more than 200 professional papers, introduced a variety of new surgical procedures and developed his own microsurgical instrumentation to improve treatment.

Dr. Nordland earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Temple University School of Dentistry in 1979 and a Masters Certificate in Periodontics from Loma Linda University in 1983. He is an associate professor of periodontics at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry and director of microsurgery at Newport Beach Coast Oral Facial Institute. Dr. Nordland has lectured for a number of prestigious organizations, including the American College of Prosthodontics and the International Dental Federation, and is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the Academy of Osseointegration.
