Wix.com is a growing start up that specializes in building Flash websites. It enables anyone to create a website in Flash without touching the code thanks to free Flash templates it provides and a free website builder. Recently the website has been teaming up with different third parties in an effort to provide their users with special bonuses and opportunities. The first collaboration is between Wix and Wacom. Wacom recently launched their new Intuos pen tablet and Wix will be giving out two of these for free on February 8th. Wix is inviting users to visit their twitters and tweet "Wix.com is giving away free Intuos4 Professional Pen Tablets". Two random Wix tweet winners will be awarded with free professional Intuos4 pen tablets. A pen tablet is a computer input device that enables the owner to hand draw images and save them. This is particularly useful for designers and others in creative professions who want to save their hand written designs without wasting paper and creating a lot of paperwork.
In addition to this giveaway, Wix will soon be introducing a new feature in its website builder that is the result of an ongoing collaboration with Fotolia. Fotolia has a huge collection of millions of photos from different fields. It is basically an international image bank where you can purchase images for every purpose while protecting the photographer's copyrights.
Through this new collaboration between Wix and fotolia, users will be able to access fotolia's database directly from the Wix website builder and purchase whatever image they want from the fotolia stock directly through the builder.
Avishai Abrahami, CEO of Wix shares the company's plans for the future: "we want to open up Wix and bring in new dimensions to the user experience. By collaborating with other company's whose product or service we believe in we can provide our users added value and broaden the extent and quality of the services we can offer our users."
Wix was established in 2005 and has its headquarters in NY and offices in Tel-Aviv. It is backed by Mangrove Capital Partners and Bessemer Venture Partners. More information on can be found at www.wix.com
