LateRooms.com can announce that people who are booking breaks in Munich hotels this winter may want to coincide their visit with the conclusion of the carnival season in Germany.Fasching is traditionally celebrated on Shrove Tuesday and represents the culmination of party season lasting more than three months.
On February 14th, thousands of people will take to the streets around Munich to either watch or participate in a colourful parade, known as Faschingsumzug in German.
Decorated lorries carrying revellers in outlandish costumes will make their way through the city in a spectacular carnival procession.
This will be followed by a night of partying, when everyone traditionally goes out in fancy dress.
Travellers may want to join in with the locals and don a costume before attending one of the many events in the city.
It's free to watch and join in the fun so there's no excuse to hide away from all the action.
"LateRooms anticipates heavy demand for hotels München due to the Fasching parade and recommends that people attending book their accommodation early," says LateRooms head of marketing Jess Reading.
Anyone who is looking for some more sedate entertainment may be interested to learn that two new exhibitions will be opening on February 12th.
The Maharaja: The grandeur of India's princely courts will be on show at the Alte Pinakothek, while Ed Ruscha - Paintings 1957 to 2007 is being exhibited at the Kunsthalle der Hypo-Kulturstiftung.
