BCC Software to Release Manifest Mail Premium Option for Mail Manager 2010

Rochester, NY — BCC Software Inc, a BÖWE BELL + HOWELL Company and a leading developer of high-performance solutions for professional mailers, will release another premium option in October for Mail Manager 2010, BCC’s PC-based presorting and list-management software product. The new Manifest Mail option allows Mail Manager 2010 users to easily document mailings composed of pieces with varying weights and thicknesses — enabling easier upstream production management and ensuring full postage discounts.

The automated United States Postal Service® (USPS®) manifest mailing process allows mailers to document postage and fees for all pieces in mailings paid via permit imprint indicia. Under the process, each mailpiece is assigned a unique identification number, or manifest keyline, that corresponds to the manifest. Using a permit imprint indicia eliminates the need to affix postage. Hard copy or electronic manifest documentation is required along with the mailing.

After BCC’s Mail Manager 2010 finishes presorting a list in preparation for a mailing, the Manifest Mail option allows the user to generate a Batch Manifest report and print the required manifest keyline on each piece. The mailer may then submit the job to the Post Office™ with confidence that their complex mailing will receive all appropriate postal discounts.

BCC’s Manifest Mail option will initially support the USPS manifest mailing system for First-Class Mail® presorts only. Support for Standard Mail™ and Package Services mailings is in development and will be added to the option soon.
