Baxa Features DoseEdge™ Pharmacy Workflow Manager at the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting

Englewood, Colo. – Baxa Corporation is featuring its complete workflow management system, DoseEdge™, during this week's ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting (MCM). DoseEdge is a fully integrated system for improving patient safety and pharmacy efficiency through the management of IV and oral dose preparation activities. The technology fits easily into current pharmacy practice and techniques, while providing a framework for reducing medication errors and the management tools for just-in-time production and resource planning. The ASHP MCM is the largest gathering of pharmacists in the world and a great venue to demonstrate the capabilities of the DoseEdge system to the pharmacy industry.

Introduced at the 2007 MCM, DoseEdge – formerly IntelliFlowRx™ – has processed more than 1,000,000 pharmacy doses to date. Today, 1,400 health-system users are managing dose preparation and barcode tracking through the system, which has resulted in the detection and rejection of approximately 30,000 product scan errors to date.

MCM attendees can visit Baxa booth #214 to see an interactive demonstration on proper pharmacy drug verification using the DoseEdge system. In a game-like setting, Baxa will provide attendees with real-life examples of increased production and efficiency. DoseEdge will be featured alongside well-known Baxa pharmacy products such as the ExactaMed® Oral Liquid Dispensers, the IntelliFill® i.v. Syringe Filler and the ExactaMix™ 2400 Automated Compounder. At the booth, Baxa products will interact with the DoseEdge System to provide hands-on experience with its workflow and dose management capabilities.
