Blue Bamboo Unveils BlueWave CT100 Contactless Terminal

November 19, 2009, Shanghai, China, – Blue Bamboo, an innovative provider of electronic payment solutions, will launch its BlueWave CT100 Near Field Communication (NFC) Contactless Terminal and Reader in December, 2009.

The CT100 is a Contactless Smart Card Terminal developed based on 13.56MHz contactless technology, supporting various types of contactless cards, including ISO 14443 Type A and B, Mifare® ,Mifare Plus and FeliCa cards.

To fit most merchant needs, the robust CT100 supports a variety of wireless communications options via GPRS and CDMA USB dongles. A first in the industry, this innovative design allows companies to use standard off the shelf USB dongles to provide wireless connectivity. Many operators prefer direct connectivity to terminals deployed in the field to regularly update blacklists, software updates, intra-daily reporting and more overall control of the terminal in the field.

Designed for many types of contactless applications, the lightweight and portable CT100 works well as either a handheld, counter or pole-mounted device in both mobile and fixed environments. It is ideal for a wide range of NFC applications, such as mass transit, prepaid/stored value, benefits, loyalty and mobile top-up.

The CT100 is an ideal device for deployments requiring multiple applications. It is equipped with a large 64MB memory to support many applications and increase the versatility and revenue generating capability of each device. The terminal supports open standards and operating systems, such as GlobalPlatform and Linux, offering real multi-application environment and increasing the options for application development and portability. The CT100 also supports remote firmware and application over-the-air (OTA) downloads reducing application deployment and terminal maintenance costs. All of these features help the customer minimize the total cost of operating a terminal network and maximize the revenue opportunities for each single hardware device.

The CT100 provides a wide range of power options via USB, docking connections or battery and a wide range of connectivity via USB or Serial to accommodate nearly any Electronic Cash Register (ECR), Personal Computer, existing POS devices or vending machines. With a powerful processor and large capacity of memory and battery, the CT100 can read and write contactless cards faster, more efficiently and more reliably.
