BuddyTV, the largest independent website for TV fans, has announced that it achieved over 85 M million page views in September, its best month ever, and 350% growth from previous year. BuddyTV co-founder David Niu gives credit for this milestone to innovations such as Fantasy TV (where fans can pick their favorites to win reality shows), a site redesign launched in August that gave more focus to each show and the fan community, and plain old hard work . "It's been a challenging year with the recession, but we've focused on helping TV fans have more fun with their favorite shows and seen these great results."
To sustain its growth, the company is continuing to invest. Most recently it hired Neal Freeland as Head of Marketing and Aaron Shapiro as Head of Sales, and moved into a larger office. "Now that we have audience scale," said Niu, "we're looking for appropriate ways to capitalize on it and grow the business even more, particularly through building the brand and growing awareness among advertisers and agencies . We expect these additions and others to help propel us forward."
