Mentors on a Mission Helps Hurricane Katrina Victims
September 04, 2005 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Mentors on a Mission, a global training and mentoring company, is doing a concrete help effort by sending a van with food, water and supplies to the victims of the Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana.“We donated money for the Katrina victims in the beginning of this week, but after seeing all that devastation, I felt I need to be able to do more. We are the wealthiest nation in the world, and it is incomprehensible to see the photos and read about the news on what is going on there. We need to be able to do more to help the suffering,” said Mr. Alan Turnquist, chief executive officer and founder of Mentors on a Mission.
“My daughter Kimberley came up with the idea of renting a van with food, water and supplies. She and my son-in-law Danny who live here in St. Petersburg, FL, volunteered to drive the van up to Louisiana leaving on Friday September 2.”
“We have also asked our mentors and students around the world to contribute and participate in this help effort. 100% of the money they donate is going to help the victims within 24 hours of their donation. We buy food and supplies and anything left over will be donated to American Red-Cross.”
