The Ravello Festival, the oldest of its kind in Italy, is the first Italian music festival to distribute Multi Media Press Kits containing broacast quality footage from its main performances. With more than 100 events and 700 artists from five different continents, its truly a world music event, the festival has been featuring acclaimed acts such as famous conductors Krzysztof Penderecki and Valery Gergiev as well as the famous Marinsky Theatre Orchestra from St Petersburg.The 2005 edition of the Ravello Festival runs for 80 days, from 1st of July running until the 18th of September offering music dance, cinema, theatre, exhibitions, visual arts and scientific congresses.
The overall theme linking the whole festival in a persuasive yet open-ended fashion is the Wagnerian Leitmotiv, “Contrast”, approached through music, art, science, ecology, philosophy, sociology, literature and management.
The Ravello Festival seeks to offer its participants full immersion in an appealing atmosphere of spiritual solace in a unique location declared patrimony of humanity by the UNESCO.

September 2nd in Scala, a small village near Ravello
The Coro Polifonico Universitario, conducted by Italian conductor Antonio Spagnolo, will be performing the last of the Musical Promenades, a series of concerts not confined to one venue, that accompanies the audience around the town of Ravello in Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone, from piazzas, to churches.

The Gran Finale, the last concert of the Ravello Festival will be performed by the Quintetto Bibiena (Villa Rufolo, 9.30 pm), followed by the great fireworks in the Festa di Torello.
