"DYING WITH DIGNITY” IS SUBJECT OF FREE ELDER ADVOCACY FORUM ON OCTOBER 4

September 2, 2005, St. Louis, Missouri … “Dying With Dignity – Whose Death Is It, Anyway?” is the topic of an expert forum set for 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday October 4, 2005 at the Clayton Recreation Center, 50 Gay Avenue. The forum hosted by the law firm of Gallop, Johnson & Neuman and Home Instead Senior Care of St. Louis is free and open to anyone.“Sensitive personal issues arise as a person grows closer to death,” said Kathie B. Dudley, elder care attorney at Gallop, Johnson & Neuman and a former judge in Missouri’s 11th Judicial Circuit. “This free education forum will address many of those issues in a sensible and compassionate way.”
Jeannie Krause-Taylor, MSW, LCSW, ACSW, who is a geriatric care manager and president of Pathways for Aging, Inc. in St. Louis and a frequent lecturer at hospitals and universities, will be keynote speaker.
“Anyone closely involved with senior citizens or who wants to learn more about personal and healthcare issues that arise in the final chapters of life will benefit from this session,” Ms. Dudley said.
End-of-life issues such as life support decisions, healthcare options, legal matters, insurance considerations and related case histories, will be among the topics discussed.
