Pediatric specialist joins Highpoint Dental Medicine Advocates American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) recommendation that infants visit the dentist by one year of age

Prior to joining Highpoint Dental Medicine, Dr. Satpute completed his pediatric dental residency at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He graduated from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry and earned his bachelor of science degree in cell and molecular biology from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Dr. Satpute has over seven years experience working with pediatric dental cases, starting in 1997 as a staff member of the University of Southern California mobile dental clinic providing dental care for underprivileged children, and over the past four years at several pediatric dental practices in California and Pennsylvania. In addition to practicing at Highpoint Dental Medicine, he will continue to serve as an attending for the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and as a clinical instructor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine Pediatric Dental Clinic.

“We have always served families with children, however over the past several years our area has experienced population growth – especially families with children – that has outpaced the availability of specialists to serve them,” said Dr. Brian Wilk, founder of Highpoint Dental Medicine. “We are very pleased to welcome Dr. Satpute to our staff and offer his pediatric dental expertise to area families, especially since the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry has determined in the past few years that children should see a dentist within six months after the first baby teeth come in and no later than 12 months of age.”

Highpoint Dental Medicine was founded by Dr. Brian L. Wilk in 1992, and includes a staff four dentists and a dedicated team of hygienists, dental assistants and patient care staff.
