(Los Angeles)—"Letters of support and gratitude are pouring in from all over the world!" exclaimed an elated Pastor Igor Nikitin of Saint Petersburg, Russia during a recent television interview on the set of TBN's popular "Behind the Scenes" with TBN Founder and President, Dr. Paul Crouch. "We have received letters and emails from Russians living as far away as Israel, England, Germany, Bulgaria and even Pakistan!" proclaimed Nikitin, who then read several letters over the air, including one from a recently born again Russian woman living in Saint Petersburg who says she was saved while watching TBN.
Russians are one of the largest ethnic groups in the world with a population of about 145 million people worldwide. Roughly 116 million ethnic Russians live in Russia and 25 million more live in neighboring countries (Source: Wikipedia Encyclopedia). Nikitin estimates there are 6 million Russians living in Europe alone.
"The fact that TBN has launched its seventh national foreign language channel in Russian without a lot of the standard marketing and branding hoopla that usually accompanies such a gigantic broadcast undertaking is nothing short of miraculous," states Susan Zahn, Director of WDC Media, a California based PR Firm.
TBN is the largest religious network in the world and reaches virtually every country via 47 satellites and 14,000 television and cable affiliates.
"In addition to other satellites that TBN uses, the network utilizes 'Hot Bird 6's' huge reach and broadcast technology," says Paul Crouch Jr., Vice President of Administration for TBN.
According to Crouch, Hot Bird 6 provides a total of 32 active transponders. Of those 32 transponders, 28 are connected to a high-power Super-Widebeam coverage. "This facilitates the provision of television broadcast and multimedia services over the European continent, North Africa, parts of Russia and the Middle East," says Crouch.
Dr. Paul Crouch Sr. and his wife, Jan, founded TBN (Trinity Broadcasting Network) in 1973. Dr. Crouch was recently honored by "The Church Report" as one of the '50 Most Influential Christians in America.' "The Church Report" described the TBN founder as "an internationally recognized visionary in the field of Christian television."
"It is abundantly clear what the Holy Spirit is doing in this generation," stated TBN's Elder Statesman and Ambassador of the Good News to a capacity crowd of 15,000 in Saint Petersburg during a recent revival meeting.
"This is the only generation who has the technology to reach the entire world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ!" To learn more about TBN programming, check your local TV, cable or satellite guide or visit TBN on-line at www.tbn.org.
"Behind the Scenes" can be seen Monday through Friday at 5:00 pm (Pacific Standard Time).
