Mobility Specialists Expands Respiratory and HME Services and Florida Service Area

July 9, 2009 - Auburndale, Fla.-Medical equipment provider Mobility Specialists is branching out its services to offer respiratory and home medical equipment to Central and Southwest Florida.

This expansion of product services follows the expiration of a non-compete agreement with a national company, which had limited Mobility Specialists to custom manual and mobility equipment services. Mobility Specialists now offers its customers home equipment such as oxygen, incontinence and diabetic supplies.

Mobility Specialists President Butch Vanderpool is looking forward to providing an expansive array of medical supplies to a broader community despite recent changes in Medicare.

"Our industry suffered a 9.5 percent Medicare reimbursement cut in January, and home oxygen care is being capped out in 36 months," Vanderpool said. "People in the industry have asked me why in the world I would get back into respiratory care, but I believe being at the right place at the right time is everything."

Vanderpool feels that Medicare will eventually overturn its decision to cut reimbursement.

Mobility Specialists is an Auburndale, Fla.-based corporation that prides itself on offering independence and freedom to those with disabilities. Mobility Specialists President Butch Vanderpool founded the company in 2003. Vanderpool hand-picked his team of medical equipment specialists to provide functional expertise in customer service. The company sells custom power and manual wheelchairs, electric scooters, lifts, ramps, and seating and positioning systems in addition to respiratory and home medical equipment.
