Artist Sean Rush announces Echo-cetera Collection for the Home

Tampa, Florida — Internationally-known artist Sean Rush today announced the release of the first seven works in his new Echo-cetera Collection. a group of soothing iconic images on free-hanging canvases. Weaving a sophisticated contemporary line with a classically-elegant palette, these canvases become visual havens within a space, blurring the line between paintings and the tradition of tapestries found throughout the world.

What makes the canvases so versatile and appropriate in classical and contemporary interiors? "It's simple. The subjects are timeless," Sean says. "The scale and compositions are contemporary, while the technique and execution are classical." Sean's collection allows ordinary design boundaries to be transcended.

One of the canvases, The Lotus Tears of Chenrezig, depicts a Buddhist god of compassion also known as the father of the Tibetan people. Within the quiet walls of Tibetan monasteries, monks take their meditations in search of spiritual enlightenment in front of paintings of ancient Buddhist iconography. These paintings, called "thangkas", hold greatly significant elements within their compositions for the monks' quiet contemplation.

"Inspired by Tibetan thangkas and the loving story of Chenrezig, I created this painting as a meditation for myself and to represent the beauty in our lives," says Sean. "I don't suggest that I am trying to recreate the significance of a religious or spiritual belief, rather my personal translation of a figure that represents compassion, a consciousness that we all have individually but of which we are in desperate need of as a global society."

The continuing Echo-cetera Collection, which can be viewed at www.seanrush.com, also includes Bacchus, the god of wine; Flora, the goddess of spring; Amymone, a figure from greek mythology and The Lion Terrace, inspired by a terrace at a friend's home in the countryside outside of Florence.

Sean Rush is an independent fine artist working in oil on canvas and has focused his career on large-scale painted installations in private estates. Inspired by the Masters, but never copying them, Sean always has emphasized the creation of new, unique and original works, appropriate to the scale and intent of their spaces. He integrates his work in such a way that both the architectural design and the artwork compliment each other on equal standing. He has worked internationally for the past fifteen years and like artists before him, Sean celebrates the heritage of climbing the scaffolding, lifting a brush above his head and telling a story.
