HELP IDENTIFY A VICIOUS SERIAL KILLER-RAPIST

A special television program, True Hollywood Stories on the Entertainment Channel (ETHS Investigates) will air on May 6, 2009 for one hour on the serial killer. Someone knows/knew this serial killer who murdered at least 13 women and men. He probably raped at least 51 women and burglarized over 150 homes between 1974 and 1986.

We believe this white male adult began his crime spree in Visalia, California in 1974 while he was in his twenties. There is a possibility that he worked in the military or as a civilian at the Lemoore Naval Air Station.

He burglarized over 112 homes in Visalia, Tulare County, California taking guns, money and jewelry. He had a strange trait of infrequently stealing Blue Chip Stamps and Green Stamp booklets.

His crimes ended in late 1975 in Visalia after killing a father trying to protect his daughter. He also shot at a police detective, on stakeout, trying to capture the suspect.

The suspect's method of operation changed little until his crimes, to our knowledge, stopped in 1986.

During June 1976 he began a series of at least 40 rapes in East Sacramento County lasting until April 1978.

The suspect also attacked four women during 1977 and 1978 in Stockton and Modesto.

Between 1976 and 1978 there were small military bases in Stockton and Modesto where this suspect could have been employed. Mather Air Force Base, McClellan Air Force Base and the Sacramento Army Depot were in close proximity to the areas in Sacramento where he committed his crimes.

In June of 1978 he traveled to Davis, California and continued raping women. He then progressed south along Highway 680 striking in Concord, San Ramon, Danville, Fremont and Walnut Creek.

Between October 1979 and July 1981, he killed at least four men and women in Goleta, California. One couple barely survived his attack in Goleta (Santa Barbara County). During March 1980, he brutally killed a couple in Ventura, California (Ventura County).

During August of 1980 he killed a couple, in Dana Point California. He killed a woman on February 5, 1981 in Irvine California. His last killing, to our knowledge, occurred on May 4, 1986 in Irvine. Did he die after this date or go into hiding?

It is clear that he frequented, or perhaps worked in Santa Barbara County between 1979 and late 1981.

One key clue, beginning with the murder in Visalia, is that he frequently rode stolen bicycles to get to and from crime scenes. On December 12, 1977 he was observed riding a bicycle by a Sacramento County Sheriff's Deputy. The bicycle was reported stolen in Redding California.

What did he do with all of the jewelry stolen over the years? He most probably gave jewelry, stamp books, etc. to girls or women he knew. He probably raped girls and women he knew who never reported the crimes to police. We know the suspect took photographs from the homes of some victims.
