The PMP certification requires specific education and experience requirements and an adherence to a code of professional conduct. In addition, the candidate must pass a multiple-choice examination designed to objectively assess and measure their project management knowledge. This computer-based examination is administered globally. The PMP designation tells current and potential employers that those who are certified have a solid foundation of project management knowledge that can be readily applied in the workplace.
