EL AL Completes First Upgrade of its 747-400 Jumbo Fleet

El Al Israel Airlines (ELAL.TA) is proud to announce this week the completion of the first upgrade to its fleet of 747-400 jumbos. As part of the upgrade on the first of four of the jumbo fleet, all classes for flights to Israel were enhanced to improve the overall décor and every seat now includes a personal entertainment system.

As part of the upgrade plan the entire fleet of 747-400 aircraft will be upgraded to provide an uncompromised level of comfort and service to all passengers no matter which choice of class is selected by customers. Economy class travelers will enjoy seats enhanced for comfort and entertainment whilst business class travelers will enjoy new spacious sleeper seats have been installed to give an unparalleled level of in-light comfort.

The first of the completed upgrades on the aircraft aptly named "Tel Aviv-Jaffa" will be used on the New York route with the recent inaugural flight taking place last week receiving impressive feedback from passengers. The second aircraft to receive the upgrade in the EL AL fleet (named Jerusalem, Haifa, Beer Sheva) will be ready for its first flight in April of this year and will join the airline's most recent acquisition, a fifth EL AL jumbo called Rishon LeZion. The new addition to the fleet will bring the number of long-haul aircraft fitted with enhanced seating and additional state-of-the-art facilities to eleven.

This upgrade, the first of four on our 747-400 jumbo fleet is testimony to our focus on providing value and customer satisfaction."
