Fast, flexible automatic backup software available

Maximum Output Software has recently updated their flagship backup product, FileBack PC. FileBack PC is an automatic file backup and synchronization utility designed for Microsoft Windows.

Unlike many backup software, FileBack PC is able to automatically scan your computer for important data files and automatically configure itself to create backups of those files. Computer hard disk drives, networks, CDs and DVDs may all be used to store backups. Backups can be setup to run based on a schedule, whenever a new file is created or saved, or in response to a wide variety of other situations. Backup files may be compressed or encrypted to save space or protect data from prying eyes.

To make management of backups easier, FileBack PC is also capable of sending email notification at the beginning or end of a backup session. This allows Information Technology staff to easily monitor the backups taking place in their organization. The Administrator edition of FileBack PC also allows changes in the backup configuration to take place remotely over a company network or the Internet.

FileBack PC tracks multiple versions of backup files, making it easy to go back in time when restoring data. Files are restored using a step-by-step wizard. Other available wizards include a backup cleanup wizard for removing files which are no longer needed, as well as a technical support request wizard for getting help from the software's publisher.
