Minneapolis Invisalign Specialist And Orthodontist, Dr. Eisenhuth Sends Candy To U.S. Troops

November 9, 2008 - ST. PAUL AND MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA – Minneapolis Invisalign specialist and Orthodontist Dr. Jennifer Eisenhuth is collecting Halloween candy donated by her patients to send to U.S. soldiers in Iraq.

In exchange for the candy, Eisenhuth rewards her patients' good deeds through a buy-back program.

For every pound of candy patients turn in, they receive tokens that can be cashed in for other treats, such as gift cards and Webkins. This is the fourth year the orthodontist has presented the program.

All candy will be collected at her Eagan office on Nov. 3 between 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Then it will be shipped- along with toothbrushes- to soldiers in Iraq.

"Our patients have been incredibly generous in donating their candy in the past," Eisenhuth said. "They are happy to give away some of it to bring a little bit of America to our troops abroad."

The goal was to get patients to donate caramels, taffy and other candies that could damage braces, but Eisenhuth has found that many patients even donate the candy that isn't off-limits to braces wearers.

"I think that speaks volumes about the generosity of these young patients," she said.
