Steamboat Springs, CO. Each year IECA offers scholarships to bring students from within the United States and internationally to the annual IECA conference and expo. Scholarships cover transportation to and from the conference, a 2-day conference registration, hotel accommodations, a stipend for food, and a one-year IECA student membership. The deadline for international scholarship applications was August 1; U.S. applications are due by October 1.Scholarship recipients will be given the opportunity to increase their knowledge of the industry, meet key professionals in their field, and attend the world’s largest erosion and sediment control trade show. The experience increases the students’ interest and provides insight into career opportunities available within the erosion and sediment control community.
Says Lindsay Pyatt of Ryerson University, a past scholarship recipient, “The sheer variety of professional fields and products and services represented at the conference was amazing. As a graduate student you don’t get exposed to the entire industry, like you can at this conference. I saw how different individuals, companies and agencies handle erosion control problems and strategies. It really sparked my interest and gave some good ideas on where I want to go with my career.”
This scholarship is open to all graduate and undergraduate students who are studying a related field at a recognized university, college, or technical school in the United States. Full details can be found on the IECA web site at www.ieca.org.
