Vegan Founder celebrates 95th Birthday

Donald Watson celebrates his 95th Birthday this year. Donald was born on 2nd September in 1910.

Vegetarians and Vegans around the world are urged to send birthday cards and thanks for Donald's inspiration to make the world a better place.

Cards and wishes should be posted to arrive no later than Monday 29th August.

FACTS

Donald Watson is the man that created the word vegan from the begining and end of the word "vegetarian"

A member of The UK Vegetarian Society (who refused permission for them to set up a sub group) Donald Watson and his frustrated friends broke away and formed The Vegan Society in London in November 1944.

World Vegan Day is celebrated internationally on 1st November every year.
