Cherokee Casino, PokerHost and Fulltilt Magazine announce the Wild, Wild West Poker Showdown at the Cherokee Casino in Tulsa, OK October 20-24th. Texas Hold’em poker tournaments will be available for players of all skill levels. A Ladies Event will start things off on the evening of the 20th with a $60 buy-in and $20 re-buy. The tournament on the 21st gives you a chance to play with the staff members of the sponsors and the professional players of “Team PokerHost” and even a chance to earn extra money when you knock one out of the tournament. The Main Event is a two day tournament starting Saturday morning October 22nd. This tournament will have a $300 buy-in. Players will play into day two with the final table being played out on Sunday evening. The winner of the event will take home more than $36,000. The Cherokee Casino also boasts a world class golf course and a hotel furnished with the cultural style of the Cherokee Tribe. PokerHost pro players “Team PokerHost” are Hoyt Corkins, Minh Nguyen and Amir Vahedi, they will be just a few of the poker elite participating in the tournaments.

Poker has just recently become legal in the state of Oklahoma. The beginning of the year brought legal poker games to the residents of the state and more business to the area casinos. The Wild, Wild West Poker Showdown is the first tournament of its kind since the law changed. It is expected to give the Cherokee Casino an edge on their competition.
