Green Party of Louisiana to File For Major Party Status

WHAT: Surpassing the 1,000 registrations needed for
major party status, the Green Party of Louisiana will
file qualification papers with the La. Secretary of
State in Baton Rouge to become Louisiana's newest
major party. The Green Party opposes the war in Iraq
and is the only political party in Louisiana calling
for raises to the minimum wage, reparations for
African-Americans, full gay rights, full funding for
Charity Hospital, and developing sustainable/renewable
energy.
WHERE: Sec. of State Elections Division: 8549 United
Plaza Boulevard, Baton Rouge, LA 70809. This is off
Essen just south of the I-12; plenty of parking
available.
WHEN: 11AM on Monday August 8, 2005
Representatives from the Green Party of Louisiana will
