Image Capture Engineering Introduces PreDiscovery™ Product Bundle for Electronic Data Discovery

Image Capture Engineering Inc. (ICE), a leading developer of production imaging and electronic discovery software for service bureaus and legal departments, today introduced the legal industry’s first PreDiscovery™ software suite.
ICE’s PreDiscovery™ application consists of Z-Print and Legal Access Ware (LAW), currently processing hundreds of millions of pages each month for legal departments and service bureaus all over the world. PreDiscovery™ is a methodology and process developed by ICE describing an efficient and cost effective approach focused on the first phase of the electronic discovery review process.

With the introduction of the PreDiscovery software bundle, ICE addresses the need to inventory, cull down and extract relevant content before the review process can begin. By utilizing Z-Print to extract files based on type and doing initial searches through the documents in their native format, paralegals, attorneys and anyone involved in the litigation cycle, can dramatically reduce the number of files that are eventually processed or even printed and get much closer to the typical benchmark of 5-10% relevancy, at a fraction of the cost.

When speed tested on a recent project, Z-Print extracted the content and metadata from all emails and attachments in a 1 Gig PST mailstore containing over 9,000 messages and attachments in just fewer than 13 minutes, several days faster than traditional means, and at a fraction of the cost.
