A new HMI/PLC training seminar is being launched by National Technology Transfer this fall at select cities. The “PLC Automation Systems” seminar is intended to train individuals responsible for designing, maintaining and operating automated machine controls systems. The seminar targets the small to mid size PLC/HMI applications arena. NTT uses AVG Automation’s EZCE Touchpanel integrated with Allen-Bradley’s SLC500 series processors in a hands-on training environment. This system teaches how the HMI can be easily integrated with the PLC to make a control system a real-time, machine troubleshooting tool for operators and maintenance.
Students spend about 60% of the time involved in valuable hands-on exercises programming the PLC, troubleshooting communication problems, configuring and setting up screens, control devices, alarms, and fault logs, on the HMI.
