DELAND, Fla. – August 4, 2005 – The National Alert Registry today announced it is sponsoring child search and rescue efforts by donating 20 percent of the proceeds from sales of its “Predator Report” to Team Amber Alert’s Forensic Search Dog Program. The “Predator Report,” available at http://www.registeredoffenderslist.org/team-amber-alert.htm, provides easy access to detailed information about the locations of registered sex offenders across the country.
“Through our interaction with Team Amber, we saw that there was a need for search kits that often times cost thousands of dollars but that dramatically aid forensic search dogs in the recovery of missing children,” said Scott Adams, CEO of National Alert Registry. “We realized that by involving ourselves in getting these dogs to the communities, little by little we would be helping to make the world safer for children. It’s a great fit.”
Team Amber Alert is a non-profit organization dedicated to the search and recovery of children who are either lost, missing or who have been abducted. It is the largest broadcaster of Amber Alerts nationwide and its Forensic Search Dog Program is working to bring search dogs to every community in the nation.
The Predator Reports provide concerned individuals with names, photos, appearance details, aliases, conviction information, offense dates, detailed maps and the street addresses of registered sex offenders who live in the subscriber’s immediate area. The National Alert Registry also provides a “Red Alert” service that notifies subscribers by email when new offenders move into their neighborhoods.
Parents and other responsible adults can run a free ZIP code-targeted search for the number of registered sexual offenders in their neighborhoods by visiting: http://www.RegisteredOffendersList.org. A complete report of sexual offenders within a three-mile radius of a resident’s home can be purchased for $10. Concerned parents can also purchase the Red Alert service that will notify them monthly of any new registered offenders that move into near by. The Red Alert service is available at a subscription rate of $4.95 per month.
