A class-action lawsuit has been filed against the owner and his business.
The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages for negligence, invasion of privacy and breach of fiduciary duty.
The lawsuit says it should be certified as a class action because all the clients share similar issues, under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996; whether they had a system for maintaining the records; and whether they breached their duty of care to the clients.
