ROCK BAND RESCUES DOWNED OFFICER’S FAMILIES AT UNIVERSAL STUDIOS

When international rockers POWDER took center stage at the Third Annual LASD Lennox Station 10-33 Ride at the Universal Studios in Hollywood, they nearly caused a riot of their own. Over 800 police officers, firefighters and bikers were treated to an arresting and fiery performance by the LA-based band, who captivated LA’s finest over a banquet lunch laid on at the Saddle Ranch of the Universal City Walk. Powder’s kinetic blend of rock theatre, dazzling stagecraft, and turbo-charged rock and roll raised the roof, not to mention a few eyebrows. Powder’s high-energy live show fuses death-defying aerial stunts with slick choreographed stage acts such as rope-tricks, trampoline jumping, and even pole-dancing, all to a pounding heavy-duty Turbo-Rock soundtrack.
Powder were booked for a second year running to headline the LASD charity event after organizer Deputy Joe Garcia received numerous requests from 2004 ride participants who saw the band and wanted them back again. States Garcia, ‘Powder helped raise thousands of dollars for our charity over the last two years, benefiting the lives of children and families who have lost a parent or loved one in the line of duty. It was our pleasure having Powder play at our event. Their live show is simply spectacular!’
Powder is currently preparing for a European and Japanese tour, having sold out shows all over southern California. Ninette Terhart, Powder’s dynamic and enigmatic lead singer, has won a slew of awards including “Best Rock/ Pop Artist” and “Best Live Show” at the LA Music Awards, whilst Powder guitarist Phil X has recorded with a multitude of multi-platinum artists such as Avril Levine, Rob Zombie and Andrew WK, and has recently written and performed on a track on Tommy Lee’s latest solo album, 'Tommyland: The Ride.'
