Control Solutions Technology Expert Mark Edmead to Help Develop IIA Global Technology Audit Guides

Control Solutions International today announced that Mark Edmead, West Coast IT Practice Director, has been chosen to be part of a select team of experts that will develop Global Technology Audit Guides on security management and IT project management for the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).

The IIA is the internal audit profession's global voice, recognized authority, acknowledged leader, chief advocate and principal educator. Its members work in internal auditing, risk management, governance, internal control, information technology audit, education and security. Nine Global Technology Audit Guides (GTAGs) have been published to date. Each is written in straightforward business language to address a timely issue related to IT management, control and security. The GTAG series serves as a ready resource for chief audit executives on different technology-associated risks and recommended practices.

Mr. Edmead has more than 28 years’ experience in computer systems architecture, information security and project management. As a consultant he has worked with a wide range of Fortune 1000 companies in the areas of information security and regulatory compliance, and he has helped to establish IT risk management departments for a number of large corporations. He was the editor of the SANS™ Institute’s Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Step-by-Step Guide. His credentials include Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA®), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP®) and Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP®).
