Coming Together for the Children, 2008 The 4th Annual Beyond Basics Fundraiser

Detroit – On Thursday, March 6th, 2008 join in the festivities as Beyond Basics hosts its 4th annual fundraiser, “Coming Together for the Children, 2008”, at the Detroit Golf Club, from 6-9 PM. The evening offers scrumptious culinary delights and beverages, fabulous entertainment featuring Rennie Kaufman on keyboard, a children’s choir from Thirkell and Jamieson Elementary. The evening will also include a silent auction, raffle, an inspiring program, and much, much more.

Our mission at Beyond Basics is to offer reading, writing and expanding horizons enrichment programs to those students attending Detroit and Pontiac public schools. We get non reading children in grades 1 – 8, reading through our one-on-one tutoring program, as well as, expanding their worlds’ through a variety of enrichment programs such as publishing center, art, leadership and character building workshops.
