Denver, CO, USA —- WAND, Inc., a leading provider of industry vertical product and service taxonomies, has announced a partnership with WebChoir, a leading vocabulary management solutions provider, to provide a turnkey information management solution. Customers can now license WAND’s vertical industry taxonomies integrated into WebChoir’s software solutions out of the box to make it easy to view and customize a taxonomy, and to integrate the taxonomy with external database driven applications. The complete WAND Taxonomy has over 70,000 product and service terms and 1.3 million associated attributes and attribute values. The complete taxonomy can be split into any industry vertical segment which can then be delivered native in any of the applications within WebChoir’s iVocab taxonomy management suite.
“Companies are seeing the value of having a structured vocabulary to help organize information within their enterprise. We wanted to be able to provide the WAND industry taxonomies as a solution for companies so that they can be customized and integrated out of the box with a minimum amount of hassle,” noted Ross Leher, WAND’s CEO. “That’s why we are pleased to have forged this partnership with WebChoir. The functionality of the iVocab suite of taxonomy management tools are a natural fit for the WAND taxonomies.”
“For the past two years, the Gartner Group has been reporting the growing importance of taxonomies to corporate clients. WebChoir is pleased to join our tools with WAND’s taxonomies to solve two critical problems noted by Gartner. Corporations create taxonomies to increase precision in information storage and retrieval. WAND’s expertly-organized taxonomies provide the foundation for growing specialized taxonomies within an enterprise while WebChoir’s iVocab taxonomy management suite supports the adaptation and growth of WAND’s specialized taxonomies within an enterprise,” explained Roger Palmer, WebChoir’s CIO. “Moreover, the iVocab suite provides sophisticated yet user-friendly search and retrieval tools to fully exploit the hierarchical organization of taxonomies to achieve search results that have the high recall and high precision desired by information users.”
